Biography

I'm Hip Hop

Born and brought up under the influence of folk music, DJ Rinks grew up listening to legends of Punjabi music, like his grandfather Ustad Shri Lal Chand Yamla Jatt and his father Ramesh Ludhianvi Ji. His recent project "Folk it Up" is an endeavor to connect youth to our cultural roots. Folk and hip hop beats are finely articulated in the album, and it is being appreciated widely in India and abroad.

In his early teenage years, Apache Indian's music, a fusion of Bhangra and reggae hip hop beats, ignited his passion for hip hop. To further pursue his musical thirst, he joined the Classic group of DJs to master DJing techniques and had the opportunity to meet industry pioneers like Bally Sagoo and DJ Ivan. Guidance from these legends helped him refine his skills and elevate his unique mixing style.

Fascinated by blending hip hop with Punjabi sounds, DJ Rinks released his first remix bootleg album "Kabza" using traditional DJ mixing equipment. This bootleg gained appreciation among local audiences. He soon became a resident DJ at a prominent disco and quickly won over the crowd. His specialty has always been hip hop.

DJ Rinks has shared the console with legendary names including Bally Sagoo, DJ Ivan, DJ Suketu, Hard Kaur, DJ EVE (Ministry Of Sound), DJ Apollo, and DJ H. Today, DJ Rinks continues to thrive as an Independent Music Producer, DJ Instructor, and live performer.
